Conceptual Physics
Course Description:
Learn physics in an exciting, qualitative (math-free) way! We will cover deep concepts in the philosophy of physics, such as: What are space and time? Why does math work so well to model reality? Are there multiple realities? We will also explore fascinating history, including inventions of the ancient Greeks, how modern physics began with Newton, and the importance of the quantum revolution. Afterwards, we will dive into the different subfields of physics and learn about astrophysics, medical physics, and much more. All the while, we will do fun hands-on demonstrations and labs involving optics and lasers, using a spectrometer, experimenting with the classic pendulum, making a vacuum chamber, seeing radioactive particles, and watching liquid nitrogen make things levitate.
